The Landi sealing wax stamp (SIG002) is a beautifully minimal and versatile design, handmade in Venice by the master artisans at Bortoletti.
Crafted in bronze and finished with a refined nickel-silver plating, this elegant seal is designed to accept all interchangeable initials and symbols from the Bortoletti collection.

A Seal Inspired by Tradition
Historically, sealing stamps were often worn around the neck as a symbol of identity and authority. The Landi seal echoes this tradition and can also be worn as a pendant, making it a meaningful personal accessory as well as a writing instrument.

Choose Your Sealing Wax
To create your wax impressions, you will also need sealing wax sticks. We offer 40 beautiful wax colours, allowing you to coordinate perfectly with wedding themes, personal stationery or seasonal gift wrapping.
Don’t forget to add your preferred sealing wax colour to your basket.
Each wax stick creates approximately 18–20 impressions, depending on the diameter of your chosen seal.

How to Use
Melt the sealing wax using an alcohol lamp, spirit burner, kitchen lighter, or a melting spoon. Pour the wax onto your surface and press the seal firmly into the warm wax. Allow approximately 20 seconds before lifting the seal.
For pre-made wax seals, melt wax onto a silicone mat, stamp, allow to cool, and attach with double-sided adhesive to invitations or packaging.
For an elegant highlight, gently rub gold or silver cream over the cooled impression to enhance the raised design.

Thank you for asking. Bortoletti recommends using 90% pure alcohol or denatured alcohol (Methylated spirits) for a stable, odourless flame that does not burn or discolour the wax.
The two best, least expensive fuels for the alcohol lamps are denatured ethanol (ethyl alcohol; grain alcohol), and methanol (methyl alcohol; wood alcohol; methylated spirit); both can be cheaply obtained at hardware stores or home-improvement centers.
What is the alternative to denatured alcohol for alcohol lamp?
Try using >99% isopropyl alcohol. It's the closest in structure and physical properties. Denatured alcohol is mostly ethanol with methanol mixed in so it can be sold for non-food use.

Hello Irene,
Thanks for asking. To seal a lid on a jar, you need to heat the end of the sealing wax with something like a kitchen lighter and carefully drip the melted wax over the area you want to seal. Then, while the wax is still warm, you can press your stamp.
