The alcohol burner produces a clean flame that prevents wax from blackening. For best performance, we recommend using 90% pure alcohol to achieve a stable, odourless flame. This ensures the sealing wax retains its true colour – even when working with delicate shades such as white.

Excellent Yield & Performance
The four included sealing wax sticks allow you to create more than 70 wax seals, depending on the size and thickness of each impression.
High-quality sealing wax should melt smoothly, flow evenly and remain workable long enough to achieve a crisp, detailed impression. Allow approximately 20 seconds after stamping before lifting the seal.
Enhance with Gold Detail
Once cooled, gently apply the included gold cream with your fingertip to highlight the raised design and add a luxurious gilded finish.
Alternative Sealing Methods
Wax can also be melted using a spoon or strainer held over the alcohol burner flame. For pre-made seals, pour wax onto a silicone mat, stamp, allow to cool, and attach using double-sided adhesive.

Thank you for asking. Bortoletti recommends using 90% pure alcohol or denatured alcohol (Methylated spirits) for a stable, odourless flame that does not burn or discolour the wax.
The two best, least expensive fuels for the alcohol lamps are denatured ethanol (ethyl alcohol; grain alcohol), and methanol (methyl alcohol; wood alcohol; methylated spirit); both can be cheaply obtained at hardware stores or home-improvement centers.
What is the alternative to denatured alcohol for alcohol lamp?
Try using >99% isopropyl alcohol. It's the closest in structure and physical properties. Denatured alcohol is mostly ethanol with methanol mixed in so it can be sold for non-food use.

Hello Irene,
Thanks for asking. To seal a lid on a jar, you need to heat the end of the sealing wax with something like a kitchen lighter and carefully drip the melted wax over the area you want to seal. Then, while the wax is still warm, you can press your stamp.
